Obituary for Everett Weed

Everett Weed, 93, of Bristol, widower of Joyce (Newcomb) Weed, passed away peacefully at home on September 24, 2022 with his family by his side. Born on November 5, 1928 in Portland, ME, he was a son of the late Charles Clayton Weed, Sr. and Fanny Fern (Ryder) Weed. Everett was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who touched and inspired many lives. After growing up in Freeport, Maine, he served as an Army Sargent during the Korean War. Attended Maine Vocational Technical School after discharge, acquiring his trade as a Tool & Die Maker. He was owner/co-owner in several businesses including B & W Manufacturing Co., Inc. and Farmington Place LLC. He was an industrious entrepreneur who actively served the community; but most of all, he loved and valued time with his family. We will miss his advice, “dad” jokes, his smile, daily texts and phone calls. Everett is survived by his son Gary Weed and wife Katherine of Kennebunkport, ME; his daughter Karen Weed Fiorini of Bristol; his daughter-in-law Lisa Weed of Plymouth; his sister Carol Wilkinson of South Portland, ME; 10 grandchildren Andrew Weed, Jessica Kovack, Laura Cole, Caroline Bergen, Josh Fiorini, Mike Fiorini, Jenn Fiorini, Jonathan Hudson, Alethea Therrien and Tyler Weed; 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Everett was predeceased by his son Jeffrey Weed, his two brothers Charles Clayton Weed, Jr. and James Floyd Weed, and his sister Louise Grover. We would like to thank the staff of Bristol Hospital Hospice, especially Katie, and Everett’s team of private caregivers Molly, Gina and Maria for their love and support over the last few months. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 1, at 11am at Asbury United Methodist Church, 90 Church Ave, Bristol. Inurnment will follow in Forestville Cemetery.
