Obituary

Cecelia E. (Lewis) Dunlap, 71, of Plainville, passed away peacefully at home on October 5, 2020. Born on December 15, 1948 in Bristol, CT, she was a daughter of the late Palmer Johnson and MaryLucy Lewis. For 26 years, Cecelia helped others as a CNA in the former Village Green of Bristol. Concurrently, she worked as a Sales Associate for Walmart in Bristol for 15 years. She retired from both in 2020. Cecelia is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Cortney and Renee Dunlap of Avon, CT; her daughters Ebony Dunlap of Bristol, CT and Nadine Brown of Groton, CT; her significant other Clement “Paul” Brown of Plainville, CT; one brother Leroy Hightower of Waterbury, CT; three grandchildren Layla and Merena Dunlap and Mia-Rae Fox; a Godson Howard “Howie” Brown; her ex-husband Edward “Duck” Dunlap; two nieces and a nephew Stacy, Julius, and Lakyia Thomas and a host of great nieces and nephews. Cecelia was predeceased by her sister Carolyn Willis and her twin sister Barbara Luicille Carridice, and her niece Tammy Sanders. A funeral service will be held Monday, October 12, at 11am at DuPont Funeral Home, 25 Bellevue Ave., Bristol. Burial will follow in Forestville Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday morning from 10-11am. For those that will be attending, face coverings will be required and social distancing will be highly recommended.

I am so sorry. I had the pleasure of working with Cecilia at the nursing home many years ago, always a smile and she was such a hard worker. Only good memories of her. My condolences to her family.

I'm so sorry for your loss. All the years I have worked with cecelia was nothing short of wonderful. She is a blessing to everyone she encountered. I love and miss her dearly. Village green will not be the same without her. Love always the Jamillo Quiles family 💕

I love you and miss you so much Cecelia. You always made me feel welcomed and loved. Always put a smile on my face everyday I seen you at work either at the village or later in the day when i would run into you at Walmart with the twins. you always told me to stay strong. and i will do just that. i love you baby girl, sleep in peace my angel.

My prayers and sympathies go out to the whole family. Cecelia was a beautiful soul she was such a happy and loving soul when i would see her at Walmart she was always smiling when I saw her. May God Bless her beautiful soul we were neighbors when my children were young my kids used to play with them around the neighborhood and Cecelia and I would talk.She was a beautiful person inside and out God Bless you all!😢💖
