Yalanis, Harry A., 57, of Bristol, beloved husband of Dianne (Pignatella) Yalanis, died Thursday, Jan. 21, at Bristol Hospital. Born April 11, 1952 in Bristol, CT, he was a son of the late Ernie and Helen (Vardakas) Yalanis. Throughout his life, Harry made his living as a chef working for many places including A&A Restaurant in Meriden, Olympos Diner also in Meriden and Anthony’s Sub Shop in Wallingford. Besides his wife, Harry leaves one son and daughter-in-law Gregory and Julie Yalanis, their son Harley A. and an expected son Damianos H., of Bronson, FL; four brothers and two sisters-in-law John Yalanis of Bristol, CT, Phillip and Cindy Yalanis of Beacon, NY, Ernie and Chrysoulla Yalanis of Waterbury, CT and George Yalanis of Bristol, CT; four sisters and two brothers-in-law Joanne Belitsis of Astoria, NY, Diane and Vincent Sumpter of Southington, CT, Mary-Ann Yalanis of Bristol, CT and Connie and Michael Brower of Alto, Georgia; his mother-in-law Constance Pignatella of Bristol, CT; two brothers-in-law Sam Pignatella and his wife Linda of El Paso, TX and Joe Pignatella of City Island, NY and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan. 28 at 11:00 a.m. at DuPont Funeral Home, 25 Bellevue Ave., Bristol. Calling hours will be held Wednesday evening from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.



In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dianne Yalanis, 65 French St., Bristol, CT 06010 to help defray the cost of the funeral.
